The AO Foundation is a medically guided, not-for-profit organisation, a global network of surgeons, and the premier education, innovation, and research organisation for the surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. Its research arm, the AO Research Institute Davos (ARI), offers knowledge and experience in musculoskeletal research, including a number of services and facilities: preclinical surgery with both standardised and costumed preclinical models, biomechanical testing & modelling, medical imaging, histology, tissue morphology & microscopy, tissue engineering, 3D printing, cell and tissue biology, bioreactors for intervertebral disc culture system, in vitro testing and animal models for fracture related infections studies.
