The European Union has been at the forefront of promoting gender equality plans (GEPs) in research organizations for over a decade. With the launch of Horizon Europe, it has now made GEPs a prerequisite for eligibility. As such, it has become crucial for institutions to adopt GEPs to receive funding for research and innovation projects. In light of this, a study was commissioned by DG Research and Innovation to investigate the impact of EU and national policies and programs that support or mandate GEPs in research organisations.
On 15 March, a virtual event will be held to present and discuss this study’s findings and share good practices and policy recommendations. The event is open to all interested academic and research performing and funding organizations or professionals in gender equality in research and innovation. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how to develop effective GEPs and promote gender equality in their organisations.
This event is especially relevant for Kosovo, given its association with Horizon Europe and the obligations that come with it, including the implementation of GEPs. With the EU making GEPs a prerequisite for eligibility for funding, Kosovo’s participating Institutions need to develop effective GEPs to advance gender equality in the sector. This event will provide valuable insights and recommendations on how Kosovo’s research organizations can create inclusive environments through effective GEPs.
Take advantage of this opportunity to learn from experts in the field and gain valuable insights on how to develop effective GEPs for your organization!
